NO to pointless pressies at Christmas

Two weeks before Christmas and George Monbiot of the Guardian takes the opportunity to trash our penchant for pointless presents at Christmas. They’re an additional burden on the environment: the things that nobody wants, nobody needs but loads of people give and get. And all that junk just because you’ve got to give ’em something for Christmas. Monbiot’s alternative presents is to bake someone a cake, write someone a poem or give someone a kiss. Presents that might well be more appreciated by the receiving party.
