Our brains are not for thinking with


You may be silently woeing the lack of intellectual and analytical clout among your peers: why don’t people think a bit more? why can’t people be more analytical? why don’t more people think before they act?

Well, now we know. As neuroscientist Daniel Wolpert explains in this TED talk, “You may reason that we have [brains] to perceive the world or to think, and that’s completely wrong”. Our brains are primarily there to control movement, not to think with.
