The truth behind Emily Davison’s death

The Guardian recently published an piece on the real truth of the death of suffragette Emily Wilding Davison on 4 June 1913. It has always been assumed that she was trying to commit suicide by trying to pull down the royal racehorse Anmer. Now, presenter Clare Balding and investigators Stephen Cole and Mike Dixon have analysed the original footage of the incident and have discovered that in fact, she was reaching up to attach a scarf to its bridle.
