Bilingualism slows brain ageing

Research published in Annals of Neurology and mentioned by both Dagens Nyheter and the Independent shows that speaking two languages slows the ageing of the brain.

Some of the tested people had learnt their second language in adulthood showing that even if you learn a second language as an adult, there may be an effect on the brain’s ageing process.
